           J&W Lumber is committed to environmental sustainability by providing the consumer with lumber from Northern California mills that have certification under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), a national forest conservation program that promotes sustainable forestry using internationally recognized standards for sustainable forest management. These mills are committed to:

• preservation of old growth forests
• developing a Habitat conservation plan to protect the ecosystem to benefit wildlife
• manage lands of special significance, whether biological, geological, cultural or historical, in a manner that takes into account their unique qualities
• replant an average of about 1,000,000 seedlings by hand annually, ensuring forests for generations to come
• comply with federal, state and local forestry and environmental laws and regulations
